HAFLA REPORT

Hafla for Haiti Report

This hafla was, perhaps, one of the BEST that we've had in this area. EACH and EVERY dancer was exceptional. As I watched the audience, I was thrilled to see them giving each dancer their undivided attention!

The American Legion Hall in Fairhope last night was rockin' with bellydance music and bellydancers performing a variety of dances ranging from Egyptian to Tribal Fusion to World Fusion! And as Kenny Graves stated, "who knew a woman's body could do all that!" (lol!)

Everyone should PURCHASE a copy of the dvd because this was a show you will want to see over and over again. For those of you who missed the show you can contact Ricardo Graphics Studio to get a copy. Their phone is 251-928-3440 and the email is: info@ricardographics.com. And of course they have a website and you can purchase pix made last night from there also. The web addy is: www.ricardographics.photoreflect.com

I have to THANK TWO VERY SPECIAL men who provided their special talents: to KENNY GRAVES who acted as emcee-THANK YOU! The bellydance community is especially grateful that you were with us last night and value you for being so willing to help us. We appreciate you, Kenny!

To JAMEY WARD a warm, heartfelt THANK YOU for handling the music and volunteering your time and equipment. We value you as a tireless supporter of our bellydance community and words cannot express how much we appreciate your efforts.

And to everyone else: Julie, Jane, & all those who helped collect the money; to Mike & Nancy who drove from Tallahassee to vend AND perform; and to each and every dancer-THANK YOU for sharing your talents with all of us.

A special thank you to my FUZE dancers who all helped to get the Hall set up by moving and lifting chairs and tables, decorating the stage and all the little things that had to get done.
Those of you who have hosted haflas and seminars in the past know that it is WORK. And without each and every person who helped it couldn't have happened.

Altogether we collected $700. After deducting the cost of the Hall rental of $200 we will be making a $500 donation to the Haitian relief efforts. And we all know that EVERY bit helps.

LOST AND FOUND! If you think you lost something email me at: zivadiva2000@yahoo.com BECAUSE we found a few items that we couldn't account for! lol!

AFTER THE HAFLA about 20 of us went to Wintzels to celebrate my big "5-0" birthday. I appreciate and love all those who planned this. And to AMANDA....my birthday cake was delicious---it was SO GOOD! Thank you!
I would be hard pressed to come up with a better birthday than this one which was spent with people I love.
