ROAD TRIP!

We, my performing troupe and I, traveled last weekend (Apr. 23-25) to Tallahassee to attend a workshop sponsored by Julianna at The Women's Bellydance Center. She hosted GIGI FAYED in a Spanish/Arabic fusion workshop. In a word, it was OUTSTANDING!

Gigi Fayed has spent over 30 years dancing and teaching. She taught some Flamenco steps and some moves that were beautiful. She also taught a workshop on Sunday on "Zambra Mora" which is a dance form that is pretty much dying out.

Gigi is available for workshops and I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND anyone consider her if one is thinking of hosting a workshop.

The show on that Saturday night was VERY good. Performers treated us to traditional Raks Sharki, tribal fusion, & Spanish influenced dances.

My group, ZivaDiva Bellydance Co. (aka Fuze), performed in 4 slots. We performed a group drum solo, Kathy P. and I performed Egyptian style dances, and I also performed a newly choreographed fusion number to a piece by Maduro.

We women (5 of us) had a BLAST!
